Introduction To
Non-Turkish Speaking Visitors
Welcome to ANTRAK
(If you can read this notice, that proves you have successfully managed
to
connect to this site. If you can not read this notice, you have to
try once
more from the beginning. But how would you know that you'd have to
try
once more if you couldn't read this notice..? Don't ask me, its your
problem.
Better learn Turkish and promote yourself. Let others try to read this
notice
written in English.
Are you an amateur? or just an honorable plain citizen? As you may or
may not know, there are two different kinds of people in the universe;
amateurs and non-amateurs. Let's check that out;
"... dr OM/YL if it's 2 difficult 4 u to dig this QSO, u may call QRT
anytime
u wish. HPECUAGN when u get a license.. 73/88 "
".... but if NOT es u copy 5/9, back to the first line;
..... Welcome to ANTRAK, nice to c u on our scrn."
(hpe it is nice to c us on ur scrn as well..!)
Welcome to "ANTRAK News-Paper"
(paper is the key-word..!)
better, GAZETTE…
ANTRAK stands for Ankara Radio Amateurs’ Club. TA2KA is the
Club callsign.
Ankara is the capital city of Turkiye/Turkey. Most people confuse
Ankara with Anchorage. Try not to…
On ANTRAK web page, you can surf
thru Members’ Pages,
Technical & Administrative Info and connect to the Gazette.
You can find unique info about Turkey, repeaters, ampr nodes,
frequencies, connections etc.
It is not mandatory to know Turkish to be able to read the Antrak Gazette.
(…but if you know Turkish, it helps!)
Each month a fresh issue of ANTRAK GAZETTE is published.
Whenever you push the button, you get the latest issue. If -for some
reason- you want to take a look at the previous issues, click for
"Eski Sayılar" and look for the appropriate
month.
January is "Ocak", February is "Şubat",
March is "Mart", April is "Nisan", May is "Mayıs",
June is "Haziran", July is "Temmuz", August is "Agustos",
September is "Eylül", October is "Ekim" (22 "Ekim" is my birthday..!)
November is "Kasım", December is "Aralık"
For example, you can try "Nisan"
issue and slide down the main page
until you hit my very smart photo: president of ANTRAK TA2CIP
had
a snap-shot with AMTRAK in Washington DC.
I bet a lot that you won't have difficulty in understanding the articles
which
contain illustrations and technical data. After all, RF properties
and
electronic data are the same, no matter in which language they are
written.
You may indeed have some difficulty with Turkish characters. e.g. (Ş,
ş)
S with a dot under, (Ğ, ğ) G with a cap over, etc. These characters
may
come distorted to your monitor…. Best is to use a "Pan-European" packet
and click "Turkish".
You can write to Antrak Gazette. You can send pictures of amateur events,
contests, station rooms, amateur projects, club proceedings…. even
a
photo of yourself. (WA1YKN Mitch will send us the photos of his
dogs;
W1LLY and J3SSE)
